How to Donate
Wild Horse Preservation Society is supported 100% by donations. Wild Horse Preservation Society is a 501(c)(3) all-volunteer not-for-profit organization. Your donation is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Donation form is available for download below.
ONLINE "BILL PAYMENT" OPTION (FREE - NO FEES)
If you use online banking, you can use the "Bill Payment" option offered by your bank or credit card company to schedule one-time or recurring donations. The bank will mail a check and you're checking or credit card information is not shared with a third party. If you choose this option, you will need to provide the following information to your bank:

Please don't forget to put the donor's name on the memo line or we won't know who made the donation! For recurring donations, a donation receipt will be issued at the end of the year.

These are some of the annual costs to maintain the herd:
- Hay - We feed approximately 180 - 220 tons of hay per year depending on weather conditions. A ton currently costs $295 (a round bale is approximately 1,300 lbs).
- Oats - One 50 lb bag costs $18 (as of Jan 2023). Feeding daily treats of oats is a means to get horses used to close interaction with humans and administer medications where appropriate. Approximately 200 horses have access to oats, including many of the very old original BLM mustangs.
- Mares Match Milk Replacer for rescued foals - $79 per 20 lb bucket.
- Gelding - Approximately $8,000 - $16,000 per year, depending on how many studs get gelded and how many mares receive birth control vaccine.
- Fencing repairs and maintenance - varies, depending on repairs needed
